Christian Health announced today that its Windmere community, located in North Haledon, New Jersey, has officially been approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate in both the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

With this designation, Windmere can now provide skilled nursing and long-term care services to eligible Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, ensuring more individuals and families have access to the trusted, compassionate, high-quality care the community is known for. The approval also supports continuity of care for residents in Windmere’s residential health care setting whose clinical or financial needs may change over time, allowing for seamless transitions within the Windmere community to greater levels of care as needs evolve.

“This certification is ultimately about access,” said Andrew Van Orden, Vice President of Operations for Life Plan & Long-term Care Services/Administrator of Windmere. “By becoming Medicare- and Medicaid-certified, we are opening our doors wider to serve more older adults who deserve exceptional care, dignity, and peace of mind. This milestone is a meaningful step forward in advancing our mission to foster health, healing, and wellness in a loving environment guided by our Christian principles.”

To receive certification, Windmere completed a comprehensive survey process, demonstrating compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to patient care, safety, staffing, and operational excellence.

Windmere offers a full continuum of senior living and healthcare services, including residential health care, skilled nursing, respite care, and long-term care support. The community’s faith-based, person-centered approach is designed to support older adults throughout every stage of aging, promoting independence, compassion, and community connection.
