Hyacinth Blake, Certified Nursing Assistant at Windmere, a community of Christian Health, received the Excellence in Care Award from Leading Age New Jersey & Delaware, an organization dedicated to advancing quality aging services in those states through advocacy, education, and fellowship.
Hyacinth’s nomination noted that her “exceptional skills and natural leadership abilities,” “dedication to enhancing the lives of others,” and “kind words, compassionate gestures, and attentive support” made her deserving of the award, which celebrates individuals from LeadingAge New Jersey & Delaware member communities who demonstrate extraordinary talent, expertise, and dedication in the provision of exceptional service to residents.
Hyacinth has worked as a CNA at Windmere, a senior living community in North Haledon, since 1994 and was promoted to lead CNA in 2007. In her nomination, Hyacinth is described as “a role model – someone whose professionalism, kindness, and reliability inspire those around her.”
“Hyacinth regularly goes above and beyond her duties by always ensuring Windmere residents, families, and visitors feel welcome and supported,” said Andy Van Orden, PT, DPT, MBA, LNHA, Vice President and Administrator of Windmere. “She builds meaningful connections with every person in her care and is deeply committed to fostering an environment of comfort and community. We are so grateful to have Hyacinth on our team at Windmere and honored to congratulate her on this much-deserved award that recognizes her impressive career and impact.”
