Executive Director & Administrator of the Windmere Carlos G. Beato, RN, LNHA was honored by Riverdale Senior Services (RSS) and members of state and federal government on June 20 as RSS’s 44th Anniversary Solstice Celebration.
In his former role as CEO of Bon Secours New York Health System, Beato played a vital role in enhancing and securing the long-term success of RSS’s Adult Day Activities Program. The Rev. William A. Tieck Adult Day Activities Program at RSS provides programs, transportation, meals and caregiver support for residents in the Bronx with early-stage memory loss.
Celebration co-chairs Helen Morik and Judith Kramer called Beato’s efforts to obtain funds for a renovation of the program “a gift…that will live on for generations.”
Beato was honored at the Solstice Celebration along with former Executive Director of RSS Julia Schwart-Leeper, LMSW. He also received a proclamation from the New York State Assembly and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand also contributed congratulatory letters.
I am thrilled to know that our efforts at Bon Secours will help Riverdale Sennior Services provide incredible opportunities and personal care to New Yorkers for years to come, and I’m grateful for the generous recognition of RSS and so many other community leaders.
