“It’s so convenient not having to leave the premises in bad weather,” said Helen Berkenbush, a resident of Windmere. Her favorite stylist, Mary Ann, makes Helen feel comfortable and assured that she is in good hands.

“She is very pleasant and friendly and I trust her ability,” said Helen. “She is sincerely appreciated!”

Lois Lyman, also a Windmere resident, loves that her stylist is very friendly and works hard to accommodate her schedule.

“I’m always satisfied,” she said. “It is so convenient and the price is right!”

“I love the convenience of having a beauty salon in our community,” said Joyce Lichtenberger, a resident of Longview Assisted Living. “I get my hair done weekly, and it’s nice that I don’t have to leave my home to do so. Anita is very personable and flexible and always listens to my opinion. I am very pleased with having this service in the comfort of my home.”

The stylists also find that being able to brighten their customers’ day is meaningful and fulfilling work.

“Serving the special residents at Christian Health is rewarding in many ways,” said Lucinda, Stylist at Heritage Manor Hair Salon. “‘When you look good, you feel good’ is our motto!”

Lucinda says that coming to the salon often dramatically improves her customers’ moods and makes them feel special, happier, and more confident.

“Their spirits are lifted from the interaction with the hairstylists and other residents,” she said. “Most importantly, our job is to make them look good and pamper them. The smile on their face is infectious. It’s very heartwarming to know we made a difference!”
